The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is a leader in rehabilitation research and training and the Communication Disability Centre is a leader in hearing rehabilitation research. The type of research conducted ranges from qualitative studies of the experiences of people with hearing loss to randomised controlled trials of interventions for this population.
The researcher will be situated in the Communication Disability Centre in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. The researcher will collaboratively develop projects with the research team to examine the effects of hearing loss on adults and/or children with hearing loss and their families, and to develop and evaluate interventions to improve outcomes for these individuals.
The purpose of this position is to work with the Communication Disability Centre to explore the activity limitations and participation restrictions experienced by adults and/or children with hearing loss, the implications of this for family members and to evaluate interventions to improve activity and participation. The applicant will be involved in all aspects of project management and dissemination of findings and will also have the opportunity to assist in the supervision of research students and research assistants.
Candidates must have a PhD and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. Research experience in a related field will be highly regarded.
This is a two year fixed term, full-time appointment at Academic Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range of $55,931.91 to $75,867.70 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range of $65,440.33 to $88,765.20 per annum).
